Volcanic Iceland Adventure

Welcome to the land of Fire & Ice for this magical ‘Volcanic Vacation’. You will be met in arrivals at Keflavik Airport by your private transfer who will take you to the centre of Reykjavik to check into your centrally located hotel. Once settled in your Deluxe room take some time to explore the city with all it’s amazing restaurants, bars and coffee shops. There are also landmarks such as the Parliament, City Hall, Harpa Concert Hall and of course; Laugarvegur shopping street.

If you arrive earlier in the day a suggestion would be to visit the Sky Lagoon; an ocean-side geothermal lagoon perfect for starting your holiday in style. Sit back in the warm waters as the North Atlantic ocean stretches out in front of you and take the 7-step spa ritual to heighten the experience further!

After breakfast this morning you have the day at leisure to relax and enjoy Reykjavik. Later; in the late afternoon/early evening, your private guide will come to collect you from your hotel to take you to the eruption sight to witness first-hand the incredible contrast of the burning orange lava against the dark, coal-black landscape. The view of the eruption against the darker skies is an impressive sight and one that may only happen once in a lifetime.

After breakfast, get ready for an amazing private tour of the ‘Golden Circle‘. Amongst other sites of interest you will visit Thingvellir National Park; a site of geological wonders. Gullfoss Waterfall is the waterfall which gives the Golden circle its name. It is mostly known for its beauty, but the sheer power of it has also been the cause of much debate on hydro-plants vs tourism and land preservation. The dormant geyser ‘Geysir’, is the one and only geyser that gave all other geysers their name! It is no longer active, but Strokkur geyser erupts every 20 minutes or so, and can reach heights up to 25 meters! Kerid is a 55m deep and 270m wide volcanic crater that is beautifully streaked with red earth and green mosses, with a turquoise-blue mineral water lake to complete a fantastic spectacle. It’s even possible to walk down a pathway to the crater’s bottom for a better look. After all these beautiful sights you will get the opportunity to head out onto Langjokull Glacier for a snowmobiling experience! An amazing day; followed by an evening at leisure.

After breakfast you will meet your private chauffeur who will return you to Keflavik Airport.
