A unique gastronomy festival

Stars du Nord is a gastronomic festival held each year in a Scandinavian city. The purpose of the festival is to promote the Nordic food concept on a global scale and give our master chefs, winemakers, and regions national and international visibility.

For the 2022 edition Stars du Nord has teamed up with Swedish Lapland’s Treehotel and Arctic Bath to embark on a green evolution and to introduce the world premiere of the Materia concept – the travelling restaurant. For two evenings on the 3rd and 4th of September 2022 the unique forest of Lapland will be transformed into a unique open air wild-woodland restaurant – MATERIA as the northern countries’ most progressive star chefs from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Iceland join forces for a never-before collaboration. The challenge? Creating a 10-star Michelin tasting menu using ingredients sourced within a 200-kilometre radius prepared with natural elements; fire, water, fermentation, and of course, imagination.

Day 1

Arrival to Swedish Lapland

Arrive into Lulea Airport and take your private transfer to the beautiful Arctic Retreat. These beautifully modern log cabins are set in the heart of the forest and have amazing views over the lake. Tonight spend the evening at leisure with a delicious dinner in the dining cabin before relaxing in your outdoor hot tub looking out over the lake and up to the skies. If you’re lucky you may spot the Northern Lights dancing above!

Day 2

Enjoy and Explore

Breakfast awaits this morning before spending the day on the water or in the forest. Take a walk into the surroundings, use the fat bikes to cycle through the terrain or why not head out onto the lake by canoe? You could even try your hand at a little fishing. This evening you can enjoy another cosy dinner by candlelight and relax in your cabin.

Day 3

Wildwood Dinner

Today you will experience a private husky training activity in the forests! Learn how the mushers and dog handlers keep the dogs fit and healthy during the summer and autumn months when there is no snow before their sledding season arrives. You will also enjoy a delicious lunch out in nature. Afterwards, take your private transfer to either the Arctic Bath or Treehotel (depending on your itinerary and preference) and settle in. This evening you will be taken by car to a secret location to enjoy the Stars du Nord experience.

Day 4

Departure

Check out this morning and take your private transfer back to Lulea Airport for your return flight home or alternatively speak to one of our Adventure Artists to help you extend your trip!
