A seaside escape
Holmen Lofoten is a remote collection of traditional, fisherman’s cabins on the shores of the Lofoten Islands. Recent renovations have transformed the cabins into cosy places to stay while preserving all of their original magic. Holmen Lofoten have also built some new rooms fusing traditional and modern methods and materials, to offer all the comforts you need in classic Scandinavian style. It’s a different kind of luxury, one that works in rhythm with nature and the landscape.
Rooms sleep 1-2 people in double or twin beds. They have their own shower rooms and tea and coffee making facilities. Suites sleep 2-4 people and are 2 double rooms. They have their own shower room and sauna and a kitchenette with living space and wood fired stove. They also have beautiful panoramic views of the ocean around you. Cabins are an option for larger groups; they sleep 5, 10 or 11 in traditional wooden small-double bunk beds. They have a shower room, kitchenette, living space and wood fired stove. The larger cabins have a second bathroom and a loft space. The cabins are the ‘true Lofoten’ experience and are a minimum 3-night stay.
A highlight at Holmen is the restaurant. The surrounding waters and mountains at Holmen have provided its inhabitants for generations and they seek to protect and preserve this way of life. Coalfish, cod and halibut, seaweed, wild mushrooms and berries, snow hares, grouse and lamb (to name but a few) mean that this awesome landscape dictates the daily menus.
