Aurora Safari Camp in Swedish Lapland

Aurora Safari Camp in Swedish Lapland is one of its kind in Northern Scandinavia. Founded and owned by Jonas Gekje and his wife Naila. This luxury glamping camp is situated by the Råne River, in the heart of Swedish Lapland. There is no light pollution, with clear views across the frozen lake, and on a clear night, you will be in one of the best places to see the Northern Lights this winter.

The Aurora Safari Camp is the perfect place for friends, families or colleagues to come together for a unique holiday to Swedish Lapland. It is the ultimate glamping hide-out hidden in the forests and  can be hired for exclusive use for you and your friends. With private transfers from Luleå Airport Jonas and Naila, who own and manage the camp, will look after you for the duration of your stay, after your short transfer, the last part to Aurora Safari Camp in the Winter seasons, is by a covered snowmobile in a sleigh across the frozen lake to the camp itself. In Summer it’s accessed only by boat or canoe.

Immerse yourself in one of the most magical places to stay in Sweden, the Aurora Safari Camp, with stunning glass roof cone rooms, with windows facing North, these cosy lavvu tents have a log burner to keep you warm, and come with lots of extra blankets and an arctic duvet, so you’ll never be cold and are for two people, the larger tipi tents has an en-suite bathroom with an incineration toilet and wash basin, ensuring that guests have all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay, and also have a beautiful private terrace to gaze over the frozen lake and see the Northern Lights.

There is an open fireplace with a great elevated view over the frozen lake, with bird feeders dotted around so that you can make the most of nature in this peaceful area. The main washroom is accessed by a walkway 20 metres from your tent, although each tent does have its own toilet.

For an extra ice experience, the floating safari camp with a sauna, is frozen into the ice on the lake, and allows you to experience the heat of the sauna and dip your toe into the ice bath in the lake, created just for this experience.

Additional winter clothing can be provided for the duration of your stay at the Arctic Safari Camp, including winter suits, boots, hats, gloves, so you are well-equipped to handle the cold weather.

During your stay at the Aurora Safari Camp in Sweden, you can use any of the equipment below, all included:

Fat Bikes – Mountain bikes adapted to cycle on winter tracks around the camp
Kicksleds – The classic transportation across frozen lakes
Snowshoes – Ideal for exploring when there is deep snow
Nordic Skis – The classic Nordic way to get around the camp

Your Guide is available to help guests who would like to venture out and explore the area surrounding the camp, your guides have ensured that there are clear tracks available for navigation during the winter months, and will always be there to help you along the way, we suggest that it is safer to travel with your guide if you would like to adventure out on the lake or into the forests.

Additional activities can also be booked during your stay, and we recommend that you try snowmobiling, Ice Fishing or dog sledding as part of your Nordic holiday with us. Adding an exhilarating winter activity to your stay will create lasting memories for you and your family and friends.
